HIKING ABOUT LIZARD ISLAND

With plenty of down time to recharge our batteries, several members of our group opted to explore the island by foot. Lizard Island offers several different hiking routes with stunning vistas of the land and sea below.

Chinamen's Ridge Track led us up and over to a beautiful look out point of Watson's Bay on one side and the resort on the other. A boardwalk took us through the Mango orchards and through the mangroves but the most extreme hike was up to Cook's Point - to the top of the highest point on the island - not for the faint of heart. Only two of our adventurers chose to make the climb - a 3 hour and a half hike to the top.
