FIRST LEG - WESTBOUND TO ANADYR, RUSSIA

The weather in Anchorage has improved, blue sky is appearing, and we are ready to lift off for our first leg. We are headed westbound to Anadyr, Russia.

On our world Journeys, all participants wear pilot uniforms. After the initial laughs, we realize their convenience. Over the years we have found that wearing the pilot uniforms aid in our processing at airports in the different destinations. General aviation is not as wide spread in many countries as in the United States and separate FBOs for private aviation are more commonly non-existent than available. Added bonus - we have our outfits pre-planned on flying days = less clothes to pack!
