A CROSSING OF THE NILE RIVER

We wanted to take advantage of our only full day in Luxor so our agenda was jammed packed.  Our first stop was at the Valley of the Kings. We set out from our hotel, the Winter Palace, for a bright and early excursion to take advantage of the cooler temperatures. 

We are staying at the Winter Palace in Luxor, a historic British colonial-era 5-star luxury hotel located on the banks of the River Nile. Old it is, but the location is superb and the hotel gives us the feeling of being in an old Humphrey Bogart movie, reminiscent of Casablanca. It's location made for an easy and exciting transfer to the opposite bank. The Valley of the Kings is located on the opposite bank of the Nile.
