ULURU AKA AYERS ROCK
Today our flight takes us to Uluru, formally known as Ayers Rock, in the middle of the continent. Australian outback, here we come!
Our flights were uneventful and nice, with some tail winds. Our approach took us right near the famous rock and its counter part Kata Tjuta - this makes for a great photo op.
We only had one night in Yuluru so our itinerary was packed to make sure we saw it all. Only two, Peter and Annie, opted for the afternoon trek through Kata Tjuta. We then had a sunset cocktail overlooking Kata Tjuta before heading out for some star gazing and a walk through the art installation "Field of Lights". Our next morning was a sunrise visit of Uluru, que those alarm clocks for 5:30am when we launched out to see the sun light up this famous landmark.
Once the sun arose it was a short walk through Uluru for an up close and personal view/visit of this massive rock that has become one of the faces of Australia.
Then it was back in the planes for our next flight to Broome, Australia - our last destination in Australia.
